Birthday Giveaway!

Don’t be confused, these aren’t gifts I’ve received, these are gifts I’m giving away to YOU!
If anyone knows me in person, they’ll testify that I *love* giving gifts to other people. I honestly would prefer to pick out gifts for other people than I would receive them! (That’s not to say I don’t accept any gifts that come my way of course!) And so, to celebrate my 26th birthday, what better way than to give something to you guys?
It’s not much, but I picked up two cute little cookbooks, and two of the McCormick’s Cinnamon Grinders I love so much. You may remember me going on and on about them in my Banana Cinnamon Waffles post (I just made these again this past weekend too), or in my Crockpot Applesauce. I swear this cinnamon makes such a noticeable difference. I’ll pick two winners, and each will get a cookbook and cinnamon grinder. I’m just so thankful for everyone who spends a couple seconds or minutes of their week checking out my blog! And extra thankful to everyone who leaves me comments. And extra extra thankful and thrilled when you guys tell me you’ve tried a recipe I posted! I’ve just been so amazed at how my readers and followers have grown! THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Two quick shots of the Frame by Frame Baking cookbook, with cookies, bread, muffins, and more! If you’re a fan of lots of pictures, you’ll love this!

And the cute little cupcake book. This one doesn’t have a ton of recipes, but all the ones in here look great!
I was lucky enough to have a my friend at work bake me this AMAZING Starbucks VIA Chocolate Chip Banana Bundt Cake as an early start my birthday week. HOLY COW! It sure was a great way to start off my Monday morning!! Thanks Liesl!
And last year I celebrated with this Oreo Cake, which was incredible, and totally tasted like a big fat Oreo! Now, I’m not completely set on what I should bake for myself this year… So, to win:
Leave me a comment, and tell me WHAT WAS YOUR MOST RECENT BIRTHDAY CAKE?
And, for a second chance to win, if you Tweet about this giveaway, leave me a comment with the link to your tweet.
Now for some rules and other stuff:
- EITHER LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THE COMMENT, OR MAKE SURE THAT I CAN EASILY FIND YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IF YOUR NAME LINKS TO YOUR BLOG. If I can’t reach you, I can’t give you your prize!
- This is ONLY open to US residents. One comment plus one tweet per person please!
- Contest Ends Sunday, November 15 at 12am PST. Winners announced Monday morning.
- I purchased everything in the giveaway with my own money, and am in NO WAY affiliated with McCormick’s or the publisher’s of these books.

My most recent birthday cake wasn't a cake but red velvet cupcakes I made myself for my own birthday.
Happiest of birthdays!!

Happy birthday!
My recent birthday cake was a diet coke cake my friend made. We'll say that it was a very kind gesture, but… I won't be requesting the recipe.
I also had a birthday chocolate cheesecake.
I hope your birthday is wonderful!
Melissa — November 12, 2009 @ 6:08 am
Happy Birthday! The last birthday cake I had was about 5-6 years ago and it was an ice cream cake from Coldstone. I think someone needs to make me a cake this year…my birthday is in less than a month!
Elizabeth — November 12, 2009 @ 6:08 am
My last birthday cake was Ina Garten's Orange Chocolate Chunk Cake. And it was dee-lish!
Vicki — November 12, 2009 @ 6:12 am
I actually didn't have a birthday cake last year. No one got me one. The year before I can't remember my 23rd b-day. I probably had a Stock's Pound Cake.
Ange — November 12, 2009 @ 6:25 am
I had two birthday cakes last year: A chocolate cake with peanut butter and cream cheese icing decorated with giraffe spots (surprise party) plus an angel food strawberry shortcake on my actual birthday!
brannyboilsover — November 12, 2009 @ 6:35 am
I had a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for my birthday a few years ago (my most recent cake!). Not my first choice but delicious nonetheless.
Happy day for you!
cookingkatie — November 12, 2009 @ 6:50 am

My most recent birthday cake wasn't cake but apple pie, apple cobbler, and apples with homemade caramel at the Delvin Farms dinner! I usually pick out German Chocolate Cake for my birthday though.
Suzi — November 12, 2009 @ 7:32 am
Happy birthday! I actually had two birthday cakes for my most recent birthday. The first was for my actual birthday weekend, I made vanilla buttermilk cupcakes. Mm! Then the next weekend, my in-laws came to visit and my hubby bought a delicious white cake with fudgy frosting from an Italian bakery to celebrate again. Yummy! I hope your birthday is full of lots of yummy cake, too
Andrea — November 12, 2009 @ 7:47 am
My last birthday cake was Dorie's Perfect Party Cake but my mom's birthday was yesterday and I made her the German chocolate cake from the Baked cookbook. If you love chocolate, I highly recommend it!
Mrs.CFH2 — November 12, 2009 @ 7:49 am
My most recent cake was white with fresh strawberry filling from my favorite cake shop! Here is a link to a pic of it

Lindsay — November 12, 2009 @ 8:01 am
I probably made myself my last cake, and chances are it wasn't a cake but rather cupcakes. Is it odd that I can distinctly remember the cake I made for Taylor's birthday, but have no clue what kind (or even if!) I baked something for myself? hehe.
Happy Birthday!!
Bridget — November 12, 2009 @ 8:15 am
Lemon Meringue Cake was my most recent. It was so good!
Angie — November 12, 2009 @ 8:16 am
My family always celebrates my birthday with my husband and my dad because our birthdays are all so close to each other… Last year my mom made this cake (http://telly21182.blogspot.com/2009/04/white-chocolate-amaretto-cream-cake.html). A white Chocolate Amaretto Cream Cake. SOOO DELISH!
Stephanie — November 12, 2009 @ 8:18 am
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! My most recent bday, my mom made me a cookie cake and she spelled out Happy BDAY in diff. colored twizzlers (they are my fave).

Jamie — November 12, 2009 @ 8:23 am
Happy Birthday Erin! Hehe, as much as I like baking and love someone else baking for me, my last couple birthday cakes have been courtesy of Dairy Queen and their delicious ice cream cakes
Jennifer — November 12, 2009 @ 8:24 am
I haven't had an actual birthday cake since I was 15. I'm not a huge fan of cake (although that is starting to change), so I always have a cookie cake.
Happy Birthday!!

Happy birthday! I should get back to you on this one…my b-day is today! : ) I think the b-day cake I had last year was white with chocolate frosting…that's my fav. : )
pxilated — November 12, 2009 @ 8:27 am
Happy Birthday. I haven't had a birthday cake personally in a long time, but I work in a big place and there's generally a birthday cake around at least twice a month. There's something in the kitchen right now, in fact, with white chocolate icing on it that I'm trying to wait for lunch to taste.
Amy — November 12, 2009 @ 8:27 am
Happy Birthday! My last birthday cake was a white cake with creamy chocolate icing. It comes from a local grocery store and I could eat the whole thing by myself!
rkostakis — November 12, 2009 @ 8:30 am
Happy birthday!
My last birthday cake was the slice of chocolate mousse cake I ordered for dessert when we went out for dinner. Yum!
Mrs. G — November 12, 2009 @ 8:33 am

Hey, Erin! Ooo, I saw that photo by photo cookbook and thought it loooked good. I've been trying to curb my cookbook purchasing!
And of course you know I've been lusting for one of the cinnamon spice grinders.
I haven't had birthday cake in a loooooooong time. For the past several years Joe buys me these dessert shots from Season's 52. They are sooooo good. He even buys the glass ones so that I can "recreate" them at home.
I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful Birthday and thanks for the chance to win!

Julie — November 12, 2009 @ 8:52 am
My birthday cake last year was a carrot cake. But my birthday is in 12 days so I'm trying to decide on what to make this year. I'm thinking cheesecake. Hmmmmm
Liesl — November 12, 2009 @ 8:58 am
Haaaaaaaaaaaaapy Birthday!!! YEA!!! Now we are all on the closer side of 30 together!!! LOL Glad you enjoyed you cake Monday! The last birthday cake I made for myself was a chocolate peanut butter cake (which was so delicious)!! I couldn't remember until I looked at my blog who baked for me this year…then I remembered Kelsey made that really good cake and we had it with ice cream!!! That was yummy too!
Molly Jean — November 12, 2009 @ 9:10 am
Happy birthday! I hope you have a fantastic time celebrating
I can't remember my most recent birthday cake… it was almost a year ago! But I do think that I'm craving a little carrot cake for my bday on the 20th.
Again, have a great birthday!
A_and_N — November 12, 2009 @ 9:15 am
Happy Birthday to you! The last cake I had for my birthday was this incredible hazelnut chocolate cake that my husband baked as a surprise. I can still feel the taste in my mouth!!
I will surely tweet about this too

Kristen — November 12, 2009 @ 9:23 am
HAPPY BIRTHDAY once again!
I'm not going to partake in the contest because I know that as awesome as those books probably are…I wouldn't make good use of them. You know how I am in the kitchen, every once in a while I get the itch to really go all out and bake/cook, etc. Anyway, I think you should hold off on baking a birthday cake for yourself….at least until the weekend.
Lindsey — November 12, 2009 @ 9:26 am
My most recent birthday cake was an ice cream cake from cold stone creamery!
Happy Birthday!!!
USA Kiwi (aka Kylee) — November 12, 2009 @ 9:29 am
I don't remember my last birthday cake that was for ME. But I made a Reeses peanut butter cake for my husband this year – he loved it!
for the love — November 12, 2009 @ 9:33 am
My most recent birthday cake was actually my wedding cake! We got married a week and a half before my birthday and got back from the honeymoon right before my birthday. With the wedding cake and honeymoon eating, I did not need another cake for my birthday. So, we'll call the wedding cake my birthday cake.
Can't wait to eat the top layer in a few months!
Eva — November 12, 2009 @ 9:36 am
My birthday was a week ago from today (Yay for Scorpios!!!), and I was too tired to make my own cake, so I got a carrot cake cupcake from a local bakery. Yum!

Pink Grapefruit yogurt cake! Specially made by Erin! You can read about this tasty treat on this snazzy blog: http://erinsfoodfiles.blogspot.com/2009/06/pink-grapefruit-yogurt-cake.html
Erin is my best friend, and there are a lot of great things that come a long with having a best friend like Erin. Her cooking is just one of her many talents and great qualities. Me and the rest of her "uptown girls" thoroughly enjoy being her test tasters! Erin hasn't produced anything I haven't liked. The sweet thing is she knows what I like and always tries to accomodate according to whoever she is cooking for.
Amy — November 12, 2009 @ 10:03 am
Mine was a nasty ice cream cake. It was really disappointing…oh well – next year it'll be something good! Happy Birthday!!

for my birthday, my husband got me a package of little debbie chocolate-caramel-crispy thingies and a pint of ice cream. He brought them to the motel we were staying at while the house was getting drywall. It was a nice gesture that he remembered, but those things were AWFUL!
(this is after we celebrated our 14th anniversary at some random jack-in-the-box on the way from Los Angeles to Nashville. http://twitpic.com/ea65 at least it was a nice sunset!)

Happy birthday! I'm not putting myself in the running for gifts (I'm good on books–ha!), but I can't NOT comment. My last birthday cake was an Italian Wedding Cake from Fresh Market. Just the right size and super delicious. One of those cakes I will NEVER make at home. Okay, I never make cakes, but I certainly won't make one of those.
Carla — November 12, 2009 @ 1:23 pm
Happy Birthday! How sweet of you to do a giveaway on your birthday.
My husband is not much of a baker, so unless I make my own cake, he typically buys a cake, which I'm not complainin'! I believe my last cake was a Gingerbread ice cream cake from Cold Stone.
