Central New York's claims to fame are: Hofmann's hot dogs, Dinosaur BBQ, salt potatoes, anything from Rudy's of Lake Ontario, Grandma Brown's Baked Beans (some of my personal favorite), and River Rat cheese curd.....mmmmmmmmmm....who knew cheese that squeeked when you chewed it would be so delicious! And of course, you can no longer get them, but back in the day apples from Wiltse's Fruit Farm were a necessity if you were passing through the small town of Hannibal, NY. ;)
